This film is a story about Joanna Shimwell and her passion for mountain biking. She tells a story of how she has built up her confidence on the bike to be able to take on more technical trails. She has been able to focus on the riding and without being distracted by wet hands and feet, thanks to Sealskinz.
Joanna also uses MTB as a way of getting out into the Peaks, and really connect with the outdoors, and tune into the moment. This has really helped improve her mental health and wellbeing. Another strong story of the film focuses around equality of the sexes. She’s not a female mountain biker, just a mountain biker, and a capable one at that.
The story starts with Joanna preparing her MTB kit and getting ready for the ride on her farm. We then see what she used to be like – nervous about tricky descents. We then see her flow down a section with ease. Joanna then climbs up to a highpoint in the Peaks, to take in the view and be present.
Joanna connects with her activity, nature and herself, enabled by Sealskinz:
– Enjoys the activity in comfort
– Tunes in to the outdoor activity without distraction
– Excels at navigating tricky terrain in all conditions
