The Ghost Guns project began in 2016 after Minsker felt compelled to create an artistic conversation regarding the horrific attacks. In total, there were 372 mass shootings in the United States in 2015, killing 475 and wounding 1,870 (www.massshootingtracker.org). These statistics prompted the first Ghost Gun exhibition in September of 2016.
The Ghost Guns installation is comprised of 372 guns that dangle freely from unseen fishing line. These guns move with the whim of a slight breeze, pointing in all directions reflecting the randomness of being targeted and killed.
Ghost Guns 2 will be held at 326 Gallery. The exhibition opening is on Thursday, June 21st from 6pm – 8:30pm. Interaction with the artwork is encouraged. Join in on the conversation by using #GhostGun and tag @EthanMinsker on Instagram or @AntagonistArt on Twitter.
