Can we influence people to behave more sustainable without their knowing, and should we do it?

Nudging is a concept in behavioural economics which proposes positive reinforcement and indirect suggestions as ways to influence the behaviour and decision-making of groups or individuals. Some argue that this knowledge can be used to push individuals to make choices that reduces emissions and resources. But what does the science say about its effectiveness, and how can it be implemented in practice? Others argue that nudging can lead to states and companies manipulating individuals, is this fear justified, and how do we ensure socially responsible nudging?

This talk features the science from the University of Stavanger, the psychology of nudging from Riska Management and the practice of it from Ducky and Footprint.
