“The Flesh Of Fallen Angels” is an animation project heavily inspired by the Max Payne 1 & 2 videogames, which are still highly regarded as brilliant noir cult-classics.

The project is an introspection into the darkest depths of a troubled mind, diving into the most surreal manifestations of Paranoia, Terror, Psychosis, Depression, Skitzophrenia and Dissociation.
In this series of animations we perceive the world as a paranoid skitzophrenic person, constantly on the verge of losing sight of the thin blurred line that separates what’s real and what simply is a delusion; the visions are a manifestation of the perpetual terror of a person living with this state of mind might go through.

The project carries some autobiographic aspects, although severly exagerated for stylistic and emotional purposes, but more importantly it marks an extremely important milestone in my artistic development, as it gives me a chance to combine my passion for psychedelic imagery with the intent of raising awareness of the sheer terror that some of these ailments can evoke in a person.

I think mental issues are the worst disease of the 21st century, as numerous studies confirm an increase in depression, anxiety and general hopelessness.
I hope that this project will intrigue for its visuals and engaging horror settings, but at the same time I hope it will promote additional respect for people that, from time to time, might actually perceive reality in this horrific manner.

It is necesary for me to specify that I never had direct and discernable experience with paranoid skitzophrenia, therefore this is just an artistic interpretation which has no intent of mocking, ridiculing, exagerating or misrepresenting the actual mental condition.

Sincerely,
Orange Wedge.
